Paul McCartney originally wrote "Blackbird" in response to seeing the violent reaction to young black women who were the first to integrate schools in the South. Beyonce's cover features the current "Blackbirds" of country music. I chose to pair blooming roses (to represent their individual talents) with woods and the zests of bright citrus fruits to celebrate that smooth country twang that is so unique to sisters in the South. The scent is quietly confident, earthy and bright.
